I have been quite silent in the blogland but that is because my girls and I are accompanying my husband to his work trip. I made these DT assignments well ahead and now I'm jus sharing these. So another fortnight has gone and it is my turn to host Altenew blog today. I decided to use Vintage Roses and Flowers set for this post. And of course, I just couldn't keep my pencils in their drawers.. so here is my card:
Stamps and dies used: Vintage Roses and Flowers, Doodle Blooms and coordinating die and Sentiments and Quotes. |
Stamps and dies used: Vintage Roses and Flowers, Doodle Blooms and coordinating die and Sentiments and Quotes.
I had to admit that this card reminds me of Formula One - I so should have used different colours. If someone is having trouble using these layering stamp sets (as I did LOL), I share at the video how I managed to get then lined up and look like a flower. These aren't my first attempts, so if you are having hard time layering these, you may consider using this guide here - it helped me a lot!
May I ask a favour? I have one more tutorial already planned for Altenew, do you have some ideas what you would like to see in them in the future? If do, please let me know them in the comments or email me. I would appreciate it a lot. Thank you!

ReplyDeleteI am so pleased you showed you did this video as I would have been lost how to build up this set from all the single stamps. I find this hard. Your colouring details are superb and really make it your own. Hope you are enjoying your trip x

ReplyDeleteThe colour combination with the black, white and orange shades is so elegant and the stamped roses and leaves with the added Inktense pencil added details are really realistic and I love the added black leaves and the white embossed sentiment on the black running along the side stands out beautifully. A gorgeous card Marika. x

ReplyDeleteThis is a comment you requested for Altenew...having just received my first "Vintage flowers" and struggling a bit, would love to have a larger and better quality "cheat sheet" that shows where the layers should be lining up and then do a video promoing that cheat sheet! thank you !
ReplyDeleteWhat vibrant and beautiful flowers! Great job and thanks for the tutorial!
ReplyDeleteWow, this is absolutely gorgeous! Love the colors and the beautifully colored flowers. The vertical sentiment looks great.
ReplyDeleteStunning as always,Marika. I definitely need more practice with these roses. Which Canson paper do you use, I love the texture it gives. Many thanks
ReplyDeleteHello Catherine! Thanks for your comment. I am on vacation at the moment, I have to check before I can answer for sure which Canson paper I have. I tried to Google it but I'm not sure about the cover so I'll get back to as soon as I am home again. Thank you.
DeleteAs well as amazing colouring skills, you also have an excellent eye for design. Gorgeous card, Marika. I hope your trip is wonderful!

Thank you so much for hinting me to another way of approaching those Altenew stamp sets! I've been trying so hard but I didn't get the hang of stamping them. At least I've never been satisfied with the outcome. I'll sure have to try your "additonal coloring" trick.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the tutorial, it was lovely too see how you colour. The card is so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLove and hugs
Maarit
Taas hieno video ja hyvät formulavärit... Ei tarvitsisi muuttaa mitään. 😊
