Hello Everyone!
Thank you for your kind comments from my DT spot announcement. I read all of them many times and they really warmed my heart. Thank you!
Today I am back with this card that I made for a few challenges in mind.
This is my entry to the Paper Players Challenge #235 and to Inkspirational challenge #77. This card was recognised as A Cut Above at Paper Players. |
I had this really cool partly coloured idea in my mind for this weeks Muse. Lovely Michele, is our Muse this week so I wanted to participate but this card ended up being so far from her card that I can't submit this there. Thanks Michele for the inspiration anyway!
I also wanted to participate at Paper Players, they have a colour challenge this week and I love those. This time the colours are so pretty as well and when I saw that colour combo I thought about this really cute image from Purple Onion Designs. I have had this for about a half year but never had the time to colour it. My girl though, have coloured this many many times! At Inkspirational, there is Word Prompt - Sprinkle. I think this image will fits there as well.
I started with stamping this sweet image with light brown ink onto a watercolour paper. I did some "partly stamping", I mean I stamped the mouse and the flower separately to get them a little further away from each other. I also made the stem to be a little bit longer. Then I coloured the image with my Inktense pencils. I am not happy with my leaf colouring and this time I really put my mind into this, I went and google also how to colour the leaves and I think I did better this time. Then I added a little dots with my Versamark pen on top of those "seeds" and added golden glitter embossing powder and heat set it. After my front panel was finished, I stamped the sentiment, and adhered the pink border underneath.

Oh Marika this is just so cute and pretty and perfectly colored!
ReplyDeleteOh, Marika, again this is so cute and so wonderfully colored. I've never had any problems with your leave coloring yet, but I know how it feels when an image doesn't look like one wants it too, so I perfectly understand what you mean. Funny story about your girl having colored this stamp instead of you. I've got those three singing snowmen by POD and with this stamp it's the same over here. I've never yet colored it but my girl's already made a bunch of cards for family and friends with them. Seems I've got to get this mouse for her too. ;o)

What a gorgeous card, Marika! The way you've incorporated the challenge colors looks totally natural and the strip of textured card down the side makes for a wonderful layout. I'm so glad you joined us at The Paper Players.
