Altenew Birch Land with watercolour stamping

Hello,

Today I'm over at Altenew blog to share a card that I made using Birch Land stamp set and watercolour stamping. Here are two examples using the same technique. On the first one I used Distress inks and on the second one I used Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Markers for stamping and blended the stamped images with water brush.

Way too Sweet

Hello!

I'm at the Altenew blog today to feature a Way Too Sweet stamp set that is designed by my sweet team mate May! Congrats May on another wonderful set!

I continued to stay out of comfort zone and did a card without colouring.. I used Distress Inks and removed the colour from the images with water.

Merry and Bright Season Greetings

I'm here to share an other holiday card. I used a few Stacey Yacula's cute images that you can find at Purple Onion Designs.

I had a bit of trouble while making this card. Firstly I stamped the images with black die ink. Then I cut a mask for the birds and the top of the trees. I didn't bother to cut a mask for the trunk of the trees, since I was going to colour them quite dark so I can hide the ink with my colouring. While I was inking the background I noticed that the black ink started to bleed, you can see it on the bigger bird on the bells. I don't know why, maybe I should have waited longer before I started to ink up background but then I figured that I should have done this in different order. I think the smarter thing to do this, would have been first stamp the trees and cover them with the masks, then just put the masks for the birds, ink the background, let it dry and then stamp the birds and colour them. Have you had this kind of trouble and how have you solved it? Please, feel free to share. 

The birds are coloured with copic markers and I added a little bit yellow copic marker to the trees and added white jelly roll pen and wink of stella on top.

Warm Winter Wishes with Purple Onion Designs

Hello Friends,

I'm sharing a few cards that I've been holding on since October. I coloured these in during the Kathy's 30 day colouring challenge. I really enjoyed colouring these and I liked how they turned out. I was kinda hoping to make these into a video but it looks that I'm not going to be getting the setup running before Christmas so I'd like to share these before holidays. I used copic markers combined with coloured pencils in these cards. 

Inspiration to these cards came from the sentiment - I wanted to colour these in warm shades but still having the snowman in a wintery scene. I've done many cards during this past year - this Snowman card is one of my favourites. 

Stamps used: Warm Hearted, 2 forests, Handwritten Holiday.

Stamps used: Cora and Thomas, Pond,  Handwritten Holiday.

I did wrote down the exact colours after colouring these in October. Back then I only did the panel and left it unadhered to a card base. Apparently, while gluing the panel to the card base, I managed to glue the post-it note between the panel and the card base. Oops. So, I don't list the colours this time because I really can't remember them and I don't want to give false information. All images are coloured firstly with copic markers and then added details with Faber-Castell Polychromo Pencils. The sky was inked with Distress Inks: Antique Linen and Tattered Rose.

Fusion Card Challenge - Blue Christmas

Hello Friends,

I'm back as promised to share another card with POD cuties. This was actually made this morning after seeing FUSION's current inspiration picture. I'm not really a blue person but for some sort of reason, I like to make blue Christmas/holiday cards. Fusion's inspiration picture was so beautiful that I couldn't walk pass it. :) So here it is:

I started with the picture, I really loved the colours in it but when I started to colour this cute little snowman called Jolly designed by Stacey Yacula, I realised that I don't have copics that would match to the colours in the picture. So I used the closest colours that I could find in my collection. I coloured Jolly, and the presents with copics and added white details with white jelly roll pen. For the background I used Distress Inks and the fireworks are just stamped. My hubby found my blog all of a sudden and complained that I really don't craft anymore.. so in this card I tried to "craft" more.. LOL!  There's fussy cutting, stamping, heat embossing, popping up images and inking up the background, masking.. LOL!

Warm Winter Wishes

I'm here to share a quick post. I made this Christmas Card a few of the challenges in mind.   Last time when I made a card with some fun challenges in mind, I had so much fun that I decided to repeat it. :) There is a challenge at Inkspirational which has a theme "Glow" and at the Muse: ChristmasVisions there is this beautiful Christmas card by Kimberly Wiener to inspire us. At this time of the year, the word glow brought "the first snow" into my mind and how it kinda "glows" when it first arrives. I took the colour theme and the snowflakes from Kimberly's card - my flakes are bit smaller though. And of course, I share this over at Kathy's 30 Day Coloring Challenge. Here's my card:

I'm running so close to deadline that I need to get this quickly published. I'm also playing along Kathy 's The 30 Day Coloring Challenge. Here's my card - pretty simple scene and one layer card. 

This is my entry to the Card Concept Card Challenge #40.

I used Stacey Yacula's images: Bobby, 2 Forests and Blossoming Perch and drew the swing.  The sentiment is also from Purple Onion Design from a set called Hopscotch Sentiments. I coloured the images with copic markers and for the background I used Distress Inks.

My Favorite Things' Superstar Card Contest

Good Afternoon my dear friends,

Today I'm here to share a card that I made for My Favorite Things Superstar Card Contest. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly encourage you to go and check it out. There are awesome set of prizes to win but moreover there are such a wonderful gallery of cards for your inspiration. What a eye candy for sure! 

There's a story behind this card. I made this card for my husband - who is the best husband ever of course but I wanted to make him a card since he's been very supportive with me with this wonderful hobby of mine. Although, it is mainly fun of course, but there's times that you'll feel frustrated when nothing works and the deadline is tomorrow. He's been wonderful in those situations and I wanted to say thank you. 

For those of you who doesn't know, but we went to Hawaii on our honeymoon. What a wonderful place - just loved it there. My hubby also loves maps (God knows how many we have of those..) so I wanted to make a map that reminds him of our honeymoon. That's the inspiration behind this card and here it is:

Firstly, I stamped the flower images with light pink ink and added the base layer of color with copic markers. I love details and sometimes with images this small, details are hard to do with copics so this time I added them with pencils on top of my copic coloured base layer. Found while doing this that polychromos work so much better than coloursofts which blend very well but are so soft that those tiny details where hard to add with them as well. I die cut the flowers and used partly die cutting technique for one of the flowers (second to lowest on right.) Then I inked up my background with Distress inks and added Shimmer mist onto it to give a feel of an ocean. I stamped the sentiment with black pigment ink to the bottom left corner. Before putting my card together I figured the background needed some interest so I cut it to stripes and popped up three of the stripes to get some dimension to my background. Flowers are added with foam tape and liquid glue - as well as the tiny sequins.

Miss You Lots with Inktense Pencils

Hello crafters,

I was kindly ask to Guest Design at the Time Out Challenges #39 where the theme is Make your Mark. The challenge is still going on for about a week and I did another card for your inspiration. 

I've purchased this adorable little girl called Miss you Lots by Wplus9. I just haven't had time to colour it until now. While I bought these I thought that they would make a perfect gift for my Goddaughters and this is my first one (of quite a many) and it'll be for my niece. Hopefully she likes it when she receives it. It would be super neat if Dawn would use her magical drawing skills and make a set of stamps like this but little boys in them... What would you think? 

I took a close up since those frames were the only ones that I could find while taking a photo... AND they are HUGE!!. I used no-line colouring technique with Inktense Pencils. For the trees on the background I used a stamp from Coming up Roses and did a bit of watercolour stamping. I very much like how this turned out, in particular I like how the dress turned out. (Many many MANY layers of Inktense pencils...) Lol! And I had a blast colouring!
