Video Collaboration with Pia - Sparkle and Shine

Hello Everyone!

Today I have something special planned for you. Today is the day when we share our first part of our collaboration with Pia from Pia's Creative World

Back in the summer we started talking and planning that this kind of collaboration would be a lot fun - it's like crafting together and finishing up card together although we are living (and crafting) in different countries. In this first part, I made some individual stuff and sent them to Pia and she finished up the card.

Firstly, if you don't know Pia already - you should! She is so sweet and kind, always happy to help and she happens to have such a creative mind and very talented hands. I find that the name of her blog is just Genius and sums up everything so well! Her style is different from mine  - and I just love that - and that makes this collaboration so interesting. I love her CAS style combined sort of graphic style in card making but still she has a lot of clever and neat ideas that just leave me speechless - oh, I-never-thought-of-doing-that-like-that -kind of way. She has a Youtube channel where she shares some of her work and ideas and if you haven't subscribed, please do so! She speaks such a fluent English and her videos are very easy to follow. If you are interested in new techniques, then her channel is one that you must follow. :)

So here's the card that we've made together:

You can see how we made this card in video tutorial that we made together. You can watch it here or in HD in YouTube.

Supplies that I used:
Stamps: Joe the Skating Snowman from Purple Onion Designs, To the Moon by Altenew.
Dies: Tiny Pine Trees by Marianne Designs
Inks: Versafine Onyx Black, SSS Smoke Ink, Fairy Dust and Falling Star Pure Color Ink by Wplus9.
Paper: Canson Watercolour Paper 220gms, Neenah Solar White Smooth Card Stock, SSS Slate Card Stock
Derwent Inktense and Metallic Pencils

Hopefully you found this fun and entertaining. We surely had fun doing this and we both learnt so much in the process. Thank you for stopping by today and see you real soon!

Hugs,
Marika

CAS(E) this Sketch #110 and Seize the Birthday

Good Afternoon!

This is my entry to the
Seize the Birthday Card Challenge.

This is my entry to the
CAS(E) this Sketch #110- Challenge.

This card was a Winner at the CTS.
Inspiration for both of these cards comes from this week's CAS(E) this Sketch.  When I saw Leigh's sketch I immediately saw Clouds! I used the sketch for both. For the Balloon I was also inspired by Dawn's way to colour it like old storybook way. Here is Dawn's tutorial for that colouring method. I tried to leave those hard edges for to get the look but... well I will try this again for sure.

I stamped the balloon from Lawn Fawn onto a watercolour paper with Black Soot Distress Ink - I used third generation stamping. Then I watercolored the image with Kuratake Gamsai Tambi watercolour set. I stamped the sentiment - says Congratulations in Finnish and added a few sequins.

For the second card, I stamped the critter and the umbrella from Mama Elephant onto a watercolour paper with Antique Linen Distress ink and coloured it with Derwent Inktense Pencils. I cut them out. Then I diecut a cloud stencil with one of dies and added Faded Jeans DI and Blue Skye Versacolour ink with my ink blending tool. I adhered the critter and the umbrella with foam tape and liquid glue. I stamped the sentiment and added a few sequins to get some interest.

Edit: I filmed this while making it but edited it a week later. If you want to see how I made this, please head over to my youtube channel:

I will link these cards into these challenges:
CAS(E) this Sketch #110 - the sketch (I was actually able to follow the sketch this time! Very proud of myself! LOL! In case you are new to my blog, I usually never am able to do that, I have to add or leave something out for some odd reason)

Muse Challenge #94

Good Evening!

This is my entry to the Muse Challenge #94.

This is my second post for today but I want to participate to the Muse Challenge #94 and it closes tomorrow. I wanted to do this tomorrow but I may not have the time. The inspiration card is seen below. It was really fun - I was inspired by the bright colours and the balloons of course. I don't have those word dies but since Marion used die cutting I wanted to add it also into my card. So this is my outcome.

The stamp is from Mama Elephant's Up and Away set and the balloon is by Marianne Design. I used Memento Cantaloupe and Lulu Lavender and Spung Sugar Distress Ink on the background. The sentiment is from Purple Onion Designs.

Here is the close-up where the technique I used is seen better. I apologise the unevenness on the balloon's glossy accents. My daughter got it on her hands before it was completely dry. Things happen...

Thank you for taking the time to come and see my card! Always pleased to here what you think! Have a wonderful day!

Mama Elephant October Challenge and Color Throwdown #314- Challenge

Good Morning all!

Firstly, I want to thank all of you who has given me such kind comments on my previous cards. I've read all of your comments many times and they really have made my day! Thank you!

This is my entry to the  Mama Elephant: October Challenge

This card was shortlisted  in the Color Throwdown.

I've been seeing these CAS cards that have a square or a circle behind the image. I really like the simple background what that creates so I wanted to try out myself. When I saw the colours of this week's Colour Throwdown #314 Challenge I know I wanted to use Mama Elephant's Up and Away set and make this really sweet card.

I stamped the images with very light Distress Ink and coloured them with Derwent Inktense Pencils. I didn't want those black lines to show. I didn't know that balloons are so difficult to colour - now I know! LOL!  I added some white Derwent Coloursoft white pencil and Wink of Stella glitter pen to highlight the reflection from the balloons. For the background I used Memento Cantaloupe and Fried Brick Distress Ink and inked the masked square. For the Mama Elephant's sentiment I used Versafine Onyx Black.

In real life the colours of the balloons look more the colours of the challenge - I don't know what happened when I took the photo.

Since I only used Mama Elephant's products, I will enter this card to their October Challenge as well.

CAS(E) this Sketch #94 - Mama Elephant September Challenge - The Card Concept Challenge

Good afternoon everyone!

My card for CAS(E) this Sketch #94 -
Mama Elephant September Challenge -
 The Card Concept Challenges.

Today I am back with a card that I started to create for Mama Elephant September Challenge. I wanted to take part in this challenge using Mama elephant stamp set Up and Away. I also wanted to use this week's sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch #94. This is the sketch for this week.

I really had trouble with this this week's sketch. This is a wonderful sketch but it really made me to try out hard before I was pleased with the design. For the background I used Distress Inks (Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Rusty Hinge, Fired Brick) I splattered some Perfect Pearls to give some shine and interest. In Mama Elephant Challenge it was to use paper piercing so I stamped the umbrellas to a pattered paper from Dovecrafts. I added some shading with Peeled Paint Distress Ink. On the day that I was making this card, there was an awful fall storm here in Northern Finland. Somehow these flying umbrellas pleased my mind with the sound of wind blowing in the background. For the final touch I added a few gemstones around the umbrellas and a little bit of Wink of Stella glitter for the umbrellas. In the end I was very pleased with the card. After I had made this card I noticed that its colours were perfect for the Card Concept #19 - Color Challenge. I will enter this card in that challenge also and I'll choose the Freestyle Collage category for my card.

I will also share this other card that I made at the same time with Mama Elephant stamps. My godson is turning one this weekend and this is his Happy Birthday card.

My godson's Happy Birthday Card.

For the background I used New Sprout, Bamboo leaves and Cantaloupe Memento inks. I coloured the images with Derwent Inktense pencils.

Thank you for stopping by and if my creations made you think of something I really would love to hear them. Please, feel free to leave a comment. I really like reading them. Have a wonderful day and happy crafting to all of you!
