Way too Sweet

I'm at the Altenew blog today to feature a Way Too Sweet stamp set that is designed by my sweet team mate May! Congrats May on another wonderful set!

I continued to stay out of comfort zone and did a card without colouring.. I used Distress Inks and removed the colour from the images with water.

I made this into a video tutorial if you're interested. You can watch it in here or in HD in Youtube.

Stamps: Way Too Sweet
Inks: Versafine Onyx Black, Victorian Velvet, Shubby Shutters and Scattered Straw Distress Inks
Superfine Clear Embossing Powder from Ranger
Sparkling Clear Cubbed Sequins and Small Clear Droplets from Pretty Pink Posh
White Twine

Thank you for stopping by today! Have a beautiful day!

  1. Once again, a brilliant card. Flew over from the Altenew site to tell you this card is simply scrumptious.

  2. Like your above comment, I, too, left Altenew and came to your blog. Thank you, Marika, this technique is sure versatile.

  3. Looks fabulous Marika, (I will have to watch the video later as I've been awake over 26 hours now and don't think I'd take anything in at all lol.... I'm on night duty at the moment, with only one to go Yay)

  4. I love these scruffy images Marika and makes me think of hot summer days and love the pretty watercolored background colours and the spattering just adds a bit more interest to it as do the sequins and droplets. x

  5. A great card Marika and a very clever technique. It never occurred to me to try THIS! A fantastic idea! (I had to pin it so I can try it soon!) TFS!

  6. Such a fun card and wonderful technique for removing color! I love the "cartoon" effect--so pretty!

  7. Darling! Thanks so much for sharing, Marika ... I hadn't thought to bleach the image! xx [p.s. Madelyn LOVED your video!]

  8. Brilliant video Marika, loved the editing that jut showed the images appearing :-)
Absolutely delightful card - I imagine the shimmer to be very eye-catching!
    Thank you!!!

  9. Very sweet card, Marika!!! So different from what you usually do, but just as wonderful!!!
I love the soft ice cream colours!!!!
    Have a great day!!!
